What are the objects around me?

SLAMcore is using deep learning to help robots and drones identify objects and people  around them, helping them work effectively in different environments. 

Combined with localization and dense mapping, semantics can provide much richer maps enabling more accurate path planning, obstacle avoidance and localization that is more robust to environmental changes.  A factory robot, for example, will be able to differentiate between static equipment, human workers and vehicles, allowing it to identify and avoid dangerous areas and only use static objects in its map of the environment. At SLAMcore, our approach to deep learning combines best-in-class traditional techniques with novel methods.
