FAQs

What data does Slamcore Aware generate? expand

Slamcore Aware calculates the position of the manual forklift at any point within the facility. This position is shared as 3 numbers X, Y and Orientation. With our advanced perception feature we also calculate the position of objects observed as well as the object type e.g. person, pallet, vehicle. This data is calculated on-device and then shared wirelessly.

Does Slamcore provide tools or additional software to use this data in operations? expand

We provide a basic dashboard and tools to query the health and status of the device but this is the limit of the offering. Slamcore Aware is ultimately a data generation device. This data is shared wirelessly and accessed via a RestAPI or VDA5050 interface. It has been designed to integrate seamlessly with in-house and third-party software applications to allow you to turbo-charge your existing and future capabilities.

What do I need to have in place to benefit from Slamcore Aware? expand

The data from Slamcore Aware can be easily integrated with in-house or third-party software via our Rest API or VDA5050 interface. For historical analytics, dedicated software is required such as Tableau, PowerBI or even Excel. For real-time fleet orchestration, a fleet management system would be required from our many partners.

What infrastructure does Slamcore Aware require? expand

Slamcore Aware uses cameras and an embedded compute platform that is mounted to the vehicle being tracked. It has minimal infrastructure requirements compared to alternative RTLS solutions. To communicate with WMS/FMS or other applications located off the vehicle, Slamcore Aware can connect to existing Wi-Fi systems.

Does Slamcore Aware share any personal identification information? expand

No. Slamcore Aware does not share any personal identification information.

Does Slamcore Aware require Wi-Fi? Does it matter if the Wi-Fi connectivity in a facility is incomplete or patchy? expand

Slamcore Aware can operate without Wi-Fi, however, certain functionalities may only be available when a Wi-Fi connection is available. The system can handle situations where Wi-Fi connectivity might drop out temporarily during live operation.
